A Masonic work originally published in 1841 by George Oliver (1782-1867), a prolific 19th century Masonic author who was deeply involved in Freemasonry and held a high-ranking position within the United Grand Lodge of England, this work comprises twelve lectures. These lectures explore the rites, ceremonies, doctrines, and disciplines of secret and mysterious institutions from ancient civilizations.
