"Sir John Woodroffe (1865-1936), who also used the pseudonym Arthur Avalon, was a leading jurist who devoted much of his free time to the study of Sanskrit and Hindu religion, in particular tantrism, and was largely responsible for its introduction to the English speaking West. This is one of a number of books / translation that he published on the subject: "The Mahanirvana Tantra" ("Treatise on the great Liberation") is an advaita text comprising mantra and esoteric rituals."
Condition: Original decorative red boards, title to spine, scarce dust jacket is present albeit worn with many tears now protected in mylar, small stamp to title page, the book has some shelf wear, corners bumped, pages are clean, overall in Very Good condition.
