Lavius Egyptus First and Second Book (Complete) by Thomas Sawyer Spivey

Publication: 1904 The Neale Publishing Company First Editions

Book One: Lavius Egyptus or The Unveiling of the Pythagorean Senate

Book Two: Lectures in the Pythagorean Senate , in the Temple of the Oracle of Dodona

An unusual and scarce work by Thomas Sawyer Spivey (1856 - 1938), an American author distinguished for his explorations into the occult, as well as for his religio-political manifestos and imaginative novels. These two volumes are said to encapsulate the profound lessons imparted to Lavius Egyptus by the Essenic Body, wisdom he diligently recorded over twenty-nine years during the fifth century BC.

The first volume delves into esoteric themes, referencing the mystical traditions of the Rosy Cross, the brotherhood of Pythagorean thinkers, and the ancient sage Hermes Trismegistus, among other influential figures. The second volume is dedicated to "Lectures in the Pythagorean Senate in the Temple of the Oracle of Dodona," embodying a rich tapestry of philosophical discourse. These lessons are presented as if derived from a meticulously typed manuscript, adorned with numerous intricate diagrams. Together, they outline a comprehensive philosophical, scientific, and evolutionary theory that seems to form the foundational bedrock for subsequent teachings in the arcane disciplines.
