The Coiled Serpent by C.J. Van Vliet
Publication: 1939 DeVorss & Co. Los Angeles; First American Edition
There is a scarce first edition of “The Coiled Serpent,” and it appears that there are very few sales records available for this specific edition. According to Worldcat.org, there is only one institutional holding: the Los Angeles Public Library. Additionally, I found another sales record showing a copy on eBay that sold for $270, although it was in very poor condition. Another copy sold on ebay for only $50, but that one sold almost immediatly after being posted (presumably underpriced?)
The Coiled Serpent is a book written by C. J. Van Vliet that explores the concept of sexual energy and its role in spiritual growth. The book delves into ancient teachings from Tantra and other spiritual traditions, examining how they view sexual energy as a powerful force that can be harnessed for personal transformation. The author discusses the dangers of misusing this energy and emphasizes the importance of conserving it through practices such as meditation and yoga. Additionally, the book explores the connection between sexual energy and creativity, highlighting how the transmutation of this energy can lead to increased artistic expression.
