First edition of this early work of Manly Halls only book of of published Poetry. The work was issued in a relatively small printing and produced in a variety of distinctive bindings, resulting in considerable variation between surviving copies. Editions were produced numerous marbled paper variations and with several gilt cross designs stamped to the covers.A lthough the title page bears the imprint of the Skelton Publishing Company, the firm functioned largely as a contract or vanity publisher during this period, producing works financed and directed by authors themselves. Hall maintained close control over the design and production of his early books which helps explain the wide variety of bindings encountered in first editions such as this.
