Publication; 1755, London; Sixth Delphine Edition

An attractive eighteenth-century edition of the surviving works of Julius Caesar, issued as part of the celebrated In Usum Delphini series of classical texts. With the engraved armorial bookplate of Sir Archibald Grant of Monymusk (1696–1778) to the front pastedown and an early ownership inscription dated 1765 on the title page. All foldoutplates are present, collated complete.

Contemporary speckled calf, gilt spine with red morocco label, five raised bands. Rubbed and worn at the extremities with some wear to the corners and spine ends. Engraved armorial bookplate of Sir Archibald Grant of Monymusk to the front pastedown and an early ownership inscription dated 1765 to the title page. Occasional foxing and light soiling, but overall a sound and attractive copy in its original period binding.
