The Way of Initiation by Rudolf Steiner translation by Max Gysi with biographical notes by Edouard Schure

Publication: 1910 Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply; First American Edition

First American edition of Rudolf Steiner’s The Way of Initiation. The first U.S. edition was published in the U.S. by both Macoy Publishing and The Occult Publishing Company, with the latter releasing a 1911 edition featuring a foreword by Annie Besant. The Macoy editions were produced  in two size variants and cloth textures,  this particular version is one of the slightly larger bindings

This edition, published in 1910, marks a significant early entry of Steiner’s work into the U.S. market. The Way of Initiation serves as a prequel to his later work, Initiation and Its Results (1909), and is composed of articles originally published in The Theosophist. In this volume, Steiner expands on ideas introduced in his earlier writings, offering a detailed exploration of inner spiritual initiation, the conditions required for true discipleship, and the soul’s path through esoteric realms. A year later, he continued this line of thought with the publication of Initiation and Its Results, which builds upon the foundations laid in this work.
