Apron Men The Romance of Freemasonry by Colonel Robert J. Blackham

Publishing: 1933 Rider & Co First Edition - Review copy with original revieww copy slip- provenance from the library of George Winslow Plummer founder of Societas Rosicrucians in America with his bookplate.

A rare masonic work seldom seen in the original dust jacket, here present. The work presented here by the author answers some key  questions about freemasonry including its history and traditions. Blackham felt it was important that the book would give a historical account of the organization but more importantly an account of his personal experience of over 40 years with Masonry.  "He seems to be sitting in his chambers in the temple talking to a circle of appreciative friends. This is the first book of its kind, as it covers not merely the Craft itself but all the higher developments of the Order."

Condition: Publishers blue cloth boards with gilt title to spine with gilt design of Hermes Trismegistus to upper board, the scarce dust jacket is present and has a tear to spine area now protected in mylar, very minor fading to bottom portion of spine, presentation copy stamp to title page which reads "from the publishers compliments",  the book is approaching near fine condition but for the sake of good measure I will list as Very Good
