A later volume in Prentice Mulford’s metaphysical “New Thought” series, The Gift of Understanding offers concise reflections on intuition, mental influence, and the inner development of personal power. Mulford’s essays bridge early American transcendentalism with the emerging New Thought movement of the time, while A. E. Waite’s extensive introduction attempts to situate Mulford within the broader esoteric traditions. 

Mulford’s works were often issued in small batches and are evidently scarce; I was not able to locate any available copies.

Condition: publishers red cloth boards, gilt title to spine, spine slightly sunned, foxing to outer edges of texblock, prelim, title page and contents page with heavy foxing, binding firm, overall in Very Good condition
