Initiation and Its Results by Rudolf Steiner translated from German by Clifford Bax
Publishing: 1910 The Occult Publishing Company First American Edition
Although not stated this first American edition was limited to 2000 copies
Note: The First American Edition is stated on advertisement page of of the Second U.K. Edition as being limited to 2000 copies and published in 1910, which would suggest the present edition is the first impression. However, there is a stated 'First American Edition'(1909) by Macoy Publishing Company which preceded this edition. The present edition contains perhaps an unintentional dual spelling of the name 'Rudolph' on the spine and 'Rudolf' on the upper board
"Initiation and Its Results" serves as a sequel to "The Way of Initiation", both major and equally formative works presented by Rudolf Steiner. The essays included here were originally published in Blavatsky's "Lucifer Magazine" during Steiner early esoteric associations. This American edition was released just prior to Steiner's split from the Theosophical Society, and these essays were pivotal in introducing Steiner to an American audience along his newly found Anthroposophical Society. The society grew rapidly by the end of the first world war, as did Steiner popularity and lecturing activity.
