ir John Woodroffe (1865-1936), who also used the pseudonym Arthur Avalon, was a leading jurist who devoted much of his free time to the study of Sanskrit and Hindu religion, in particular tantrism, and was largely responsible for its introduction to the English speaking West. This extensive work was an "exhaustive and clear exposition of Tantra Shastra in its various aspects", and was first published in two volumes in 1914.
Condition: Publishers red boards beautifully decorated with geometric Yantra on the front boards of each volume, stamp to each flyleaf and bumped lower corners are about the only small imperfections of these editions, dust jackets are present for both editions; and in wonderful condition with only very minor creasing along the spine edges of part 1, the jackets have also done their job in preserving the books in a very bright condition, all pages remain clean, binding is tight, overall NEAR FINE
