The Book of the Master or The Egyptian Doctrine of the Light by Marsham Adams
Publication: 1898 John Murray London/ Putnam N.Y.
The scarce First Edition by author Marsham Adams who was a respected scholar and Egyptologist by way of Oxford.
Adams claimed that the true name for the texts now known as "The Book of the Dead" was "The Book of the Master of the Secret House". and that the "Secret House" referred to is the Great Pyramid, also called the "Light". In "The Book of the Master" Adams offered a detailed study of his understanding of the religious and secret esoteric beliefs of the Ancient Egyptians. Adams books impressed many of the great occult scholars of the time, with G. R. S. Mead quoting liberally from them in his massive work on Hermetic thought, "Thrice Greatest Hermes".
