This book is signed on the prelim as "Brother Atoninus" and inscbribed on the rear limitation page as "William Everson". The book is a collections from William Everson’s monastic period, published under his religious name Brother Antoninus. Written in the years immediately following his conversion to Catholicism and entrance into the Dominican order, these poems fuse the raw, confessional energy of the West Coast San Francisco Renaissance circles with a rigorously sacramental imagination.
