The Life of Paracelsus by Franz Hartmann

Publication: [no date] Kegan Paul; London (although there is no date this is known to be the 1910 edition Second Edition Revised and Enlarged (Third Impression)

"Includes a brief biography of Paracelsus, followed by studies of his works and thought on Cosmology, Magic, Alchemy, Medicine, Astrology etc. By Franz Hartmann (1838 - 1912) the Bavarian-American writer, physician, theosophist, occultist, geomancer, astrologer, who was part of the late nineteenth century German esoteric milieu that gave birth to organizations like the Ordo Templi Orientis. Hartmann was quite clear that true magic - as he saw it - did not involve specific ritual or ceremonial, but rather a development of individual spiritual powers, and felt a tremendous empathy with Parcelsus, whom he regarded as "one of the greatest illuminated minds" of his age."
