This edition is preceded only by the William Rider publication on year prior (1912), which is aesthetically identical. The works English Theosophist Mabel Colins have been tremendously influential in esoteric circles. Her work The Light on the Path is considered a theosophical classic. The present work pertains to the Aphorism of Yoga compbped by Patanjali. With the text of Sutras in English, partly in the translation by Manilana Nabhubhai Dvivedi, partly in that by Tukarama Tatya. From the opening chapter "This jewel of which I am writing is no diamond dug out of the darkness of the earth, but is no less a thing than the mind of man when it has been drawn from the darkness of material life and become perfectly clear."
Condition: publishers blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine and upper board, spine edges turned in, upper board with significant rubbing and semi discolored marks, corners bumped, pages clean, tightly bound, in Very Good condition
