The Way of Initiation by Rudolf Steiner

The Way of Initiation was originally published in 1908 and limited to only 1500 copies.  Subsequent demand for this work by Steiner resulted two subsequent reprints also limited to 1500; the first reprint came only six months later in 1909, then again in 1912. The 1912 third edition, present here, is considered the best of editions namely due to the important revisions. 

The three printing had only minor aesthetic variations. This edition also contains the dual colored title page in red and black along with the 'Cross in Pentagram' symbol also stamped on the rear board; this helps identify from the unauthorized translations which began circulating at the time as a result of Steiner's popularity. These details were not ipresent in the 1908 first edition. 

 The Way of Initiations serves as the first half prequel of Steiner later work Initiation and its Results (1909) consists of articles that were originally published in The Theophist. Through this work Steiner expands on the postulation presented in those earlier publications. He explores the processes of the inner spiritual initiation, the conditions of discipleship and the souls journey through the esoteric realms. Steiner expanded  on this work, on year later, with the release of Initiation and its Results.

Condition: Publishers brown cloth boards, gilt title and decorative rosy cross to spine and upper board, lacking front free endpaper, rear board with some discoloration marks (see photos) pages clean, binding firm, overall in Very Good condition
