The Way of Initiation by Rudolf Steiner with forward by Annie Besant and some biographical notes of the author by Edouard Shure
1912 Theosophical Publishing Society (Third Revised Edition 1500 printed May 1912)
The Way of Initiation” was first published in 1908, with only 1500 copies printed. Due to high demand, two subsequent reprints were made, also limited to 1500 copies each. The first reprint came in 1909, just six months after the initial publication, followed by another reprint in 1912. This third edition from 1912 is widely regarded as the best edition due to significant revisions.
The three printings had only minor aesthetic variations. This edition also contains a dual-colored title page in red and black, along with the 'Cross in Pentagram' symbol stamped on the rear board. This helps to distinguish it from the unauthorized translations that began circulating at the time due to Steiner's popularity. These details were not present in the 1908 first edition.
