The Turbo Philosophorum or Assembly of The Sages by Arthur Edward Waite
Publishing: 1896 George Redway; London First Edition
The first English edition of Turba Philosophorum or Assembly of the Sages Called Also the Book of Truth in the Art and the Third Pythagorical Synod. An Ancient Alchemical Treatise translated from the Latin, the chief readings of the shorter Codex, parallels from the Greek Alchemists, and explanations of obscure terms.
Association Copy with the bookplate George Winslow Plummer adhered to pastedown along with signature of his pen name "Khei" "anno MCMXIII" there is a separate inscription (written in different ink) in addition to that of Plummer's which reads "H.H. Morris's greetings to" which is presumably an homage to Plummer. The 'Morris' inscription has an air of reverence but we have not been able to confirm an association. In the past, we have come across several early 20th century esoteric related works with this 'Morris' inscription. We have also previously catalogued other books signed by Plummer "Khei" in which he distinctly inscribes the year or 'Anno' beside his signature. We have determined it as authentic.
