The most finely produced of all the facsimile editions of John Dee’s A True & Faithful Relation of What Passed for Many Years Between Dr. John Dee and Some Spirits, compiled by Meric Casaubon. Originally published in 1659, this edition was issued in an Oxford style polished leather binding and limited to just 500 copies. Considered a cornerstone of the Western Magical tradition. It remains among the most extraordinary magical records ever written. The work was compiled from Dee’s diaries and writings some decades after his death by Meric Casaubon; it documents the angelic communications between Dee and Edward Kelly along with their methods of invocation, and the revelation of the angelic or “Enochian” language derived from The Book of Enoch. The text remains the foundation of the Enochian magical system.
