The Ways of the Lonely Ones by Manly P. Hall
Publication: [Undated Circa 1920s] The Hall Publishing Company; Third Enlarged Edition
A collection of mystical allegorical short stories by Manly P. Hall. Including: Nature's Homage, The Maker of Gods, THe Master of the Blue Cape, The Face of Christ, The Guardian of Light, The One Who Turned Back, The Glory of The Lord, THe Last of the Shamen.
Bibliographical Notes:
This is the preferred edition among collectors, primarly because of the decorative cover which was issued in two colors variants (Red and Blue). Prior to this third edition the book was issued privately; once in 1923 as a ‘Special Students Edition” and shortly after as a “Second Edition” with no specific date. The exact date of this Third Edition is not clear. The copyright states two dates, 1922 and 1925 (although the original Student Edition states a very specific date of May 1, 1923) - One would assume that the book was issued for a new copyright when it was revised, in this case 1925. This would fall in line with other publications which were published in a similar style binding in that same year [i.e. Shadow Forms] However, the rear advertisement page lists The Initiates of the Flame, Third Edition, which was published in 1934. Further confusing the matter. Nonetheless, this Third Enlarged Edition was published under The Hall Publishing Co. imprint which seized in 1934 upon the advent of Hall’s The Philosohpical Research Society.
