Collection: Catalogue 33: Works of Manly P. Hall

I have compiled a sizeable collection of works by Manly P. Hall, with over fifty listings including rare works, signed copies, early pamphlets, and later publications. I first began issuing online catalogues dedicated to Manly P. Hall back in 2019, and it seems appropriate that our thirty-third catalogue should be devoted to Hall during the month marking the 125th anniversary of his birth.

Among the highlights I have included two 1928 editions of his monumental The Secret Teachings of All Ages, including a signed Theosophical Edition that was limited to only 200 copies and another King Solomon Edition which is perhaps the cleanest copy we have ever handled among the dozens we have catalogued over the years. 

The highlight of the release is what is often regarded as something of a “grail” among Manly P. Hall collectors: a true first Signed Student Edition of The Lost Keys of Masonry. The inscription is dated on Hall’s 22nd birthday, the same month the work was issued, giving this copy a particularly unique and desirable point of interest. 

This is one of the very few works by Hall that is truly deserving of the title “rare.”

The last signed copy that appeared on the market auctioned for over $10,000 in September of 2024. 

There are several other works that belong to the small group of early writings that circulated primarily among his students before the founding of the Philosophical Research Society (PRS), during a period when Hall maintained a much stricter system of distributing his writings. These include a rare pamphlet Faust: The Eternal Drama, The Lost Keys of Masonry (Student Edition), along with first editions of The Occult Anatomy of Man and The Sacred Magic of the Qabbalah.
