Faust The Eternal Drama by Manly P. Hall
Publication: [undated c. 1921-24] privately printed Students Edition (first edition)
One of the earliest private publications by Manly P. Hall, issued as a “Student Edition” in 1923 without any publishing imprint, predating the founding of the Philosophical Research Society as well as his early Hall Publishing Company issues, which began appearing in 1925.
During this period (1921–1924), Hall required an application from students attending his lectures in order to obtain these pamphlets. He advertised the student editions with the statement “Truth cannot be bought or sold… let your conscience be your guide.” Because of this method of distribution these early student editions are among the rarest to track down and represent some of Hall’s earliest printed publications.
