Freemasonry of The Ancient Egyptians by Manly P. Hall
Publisher: 1965 The Philosophical Research Society Reprint Fourth Edition Revised
In this work Hall focuses several aspects of the esoteric Egyptian mysteries including; Egyptian Magic, The Osirian Cycle and The Secret Doctrine in Egypt. After the decline of Egypt, Hall assures that the High Priests of these illustrious societies retired into the desert and migrated to more hospitable lands...Hall eventually seized writing about Freemasonry but continued reporting his early works on the subject.
The second half of the books contains a restoration of the "Crata Repoa Rite" which according to Hall "sets forth the principal elements of initiatory drama." "That the gods of Egypt were elements of a profound magical system and possessed a significance far different from that advanced by modern Egyptologists is certain. The various deities of the Nile valley were elements of an elaborate magical metaphysical system, a kind of ceremonial Cabbala." Despite the title the book has little to do with Freemasonry as such - Hall
