Publication: 1952 Spinoza Institute of America First Edition
.The author Harry Waton was a Russian-born American Rabbi, Kabbalist and philosopher who focused on the works of Karl Marx and Benedict Spinoza. In the rare work Waton endeavors to comprehend the Mathematical System of the Bible. He describes the process of understanding by the use of three aspects of the mathematical system ,Hebrew Gematria, and some philosophical principles
He elucidates that mathematics it the key to all knowledge and understanding, and there are three corresponding orders of mathematics; for ordinary purpose - arithmetic and geometry apply, for scientific purpose - a higher order of mathematics, and for understanding the ultimate nature of existence we must use a still higher order. He explains that all three corresponding orders are required to fully comprehend the three aspects of the Bible, that being the 'plain text.. body and soul' .
"By means of mathematics we attain to a knowledge of the realities and processes of existence, but by mathematics alone we cannot understand existence. To understand existence, we must use philosophy. Philosophy interprets what mathematics reveals."
